Distance: 13.4km

Elevation gain: 1207m

Time required: 6-7 hours

Slollicum Peak is a mountain located on the east side of Harrison Lake. There are not many accessible peaks in the Harrison Lake area so I wanted to ensure I bagged this one.

The starting point is 5km up Harrison East FSR, at one of the many logging roads. If you had a 4WD vehicle with good clearance, you could drive about 800m up the logging road and start from there. There was one truck that was parked there when I passed by.

A good chunk of the total distance is on logging roads. They haven't yet replanted the cut blocks so there's just huge piles of slash everywhere. At one point, there is a 400m shortcut that climbs up a slope to reach another logging road.

After about 7.5km of logging roads, you finally reach the 'real' trailhead. From here, it's a steep 2km climb through the forest until you reach the ridgeline.

Slollicum ridge line. Slollicum Peak is the rocky bump on the right.

I was surprised to find a light layer of snow on the ridge. I was only at about 1550m. It was definitely cold, though thankfully sunny.

First snow of the year. Most if it melted in the afternoon sun.

Once on the ridge, I climbed over two bumps and then made a final scramble up Slollicum Peak. It had taken me just under 3 hours from where I was parked on Harrison East FSR.

Slollicum Lake. I didn't bother going down to it though you can.

It was a very quiet day. I didn't see anyone else despite it being a holiday. It's definitely a lesser known peak.
