Distance: 11km round-trip

Elevation gain: 469m

Time required: 6-7 hours total

Lindeman Lake and Greendrop Lake are two very popular backcountry glacier lakes in Chilliwack. Lindeman Lake is especially popular given that it is only about a 20 minute hike.

There is a big parking lot near the end of Chilliwack Lake Road just before the turn-off for the campground. The trail heads through the forest for about 20 minutes before reaching the south end of Lindeman Lake. This is where the tent pads and pit toilet are located. It is always very very busy.

Lindeman Lake is known for its crystal clear turquoise waters. The colour is due to the cold temperature.

The trail continues northward along the west side of the lake. Once reaching the north end, you cross over a boulder field and then continue northward into the forest. The trail does not have much elevation gain. Some sections have some bigger boulders to navigate over/around. You cross over Post Creek several times.

It takes about 3 hours to reach Greendrop lake. Both times that I've been here, I have stayed overnight. It is a wonderful place for an overnighter. There are a few tent pads at the south end but the best spot to camp is in the forest. There is a big river close by for water. Note that if you do want to stay overnight at either Greendrop or Lindeman lakes, you need a backcountry reservation which costs $5 and can be booked online.
