Distance: 14.5km round-trip
Elevation gain: 1695m
Time required: 7-8 hours total
Flora Lake (and peak) is in the Chilliwack mountains. It starts at the same place as the very popular Lindeman and Greendrop Lakes. It is the least-travelled lake out of the three.
From the parking lot off of Chilliwack Lake Road, you start on the trail and immediately take a right onto the Flora Lake Trail. This climbs fairly steadily through the forest. There are some switchback sections. Eventually, you get to Flora Pass where you have the option of continuing straight towards the lake or heading to the left to reach Flora Peak. I chose to go to the lake first which is 1.4km past the pass. It took me 2 hours and 40 minutes total to reach the lake.
The lake has 2 tent pads. If you camp there, you need to make a backcountry reservation which costs $5.

Once back at the junction at Flora Pass, I headed up to Flora Peak. There's some fun and easy scrambling involved. From the lake, this took me 1 hour and 15 minutes.

I really enjoyed this trip. I didn't see a single person the whole time which is my absolute favourite. It really allows me to connect to my surroundings and feel the most joy and peace.
